Report of Actions

Call to Order– Bernice Scott, Committee Chair, called the meeting to order.

Approval of Minutes – The minutes of the October 23, 2001 Regular Session Meeting were approved as submitted.

Adoption of Agenda – The agenda was adopted as submitted.

1. Items for Action

    1. Ordinance: Tax District for Village at Sandhills – the Committee recommend approval of proceeding with Alternatives 3, 2, then 1 as outlined in the Council Request for Action. This would require (1) a feasibility study to be paid for by the developer, (2) establishment of guidelines and procedures for similar developments in the future, and (3) submitting an ordinance to Council to create a special assessment district for the development and an ordinance to issue bonds for the development.

    2. Ordinance Amendment: Driveway Separation – the Committee referred this item back to the Planning Commission to be studied further and requested that staff provide (1) statistics for accidents at the intersection of driveways and roadways and (2) a recommended policy for subdividing land within families.

    3. Award of Contracts: On-Call Engineering Services – the Committee recommended approval of the award of on-call engineering contracts to the top four qualified firms (The LPA Group, Wilbur Smith Associates, Stantec Consulting Services, and Florence and Hutcheson) for a period of eighteen months.

    4. Award of Contracts: Solid Waste Collection – the Committee recommended approval of extending the Solid Waste collection contracts with Southland, Allwaste, and Johnson from three to five years.

    5. Letter of Support: Curtis-Wright Hanger Renovation Grant – the Committee recommended approval of a letter of support for a Curtis-Wright Hangar renovation grant application.
